Meeting Sariah

This past weekend Travis and I headed to Rexburg to visit is girlfriend--Sariah. It was my first time meeting her.

We had a really good drive to Rexburg. We left Saturday at 4 when I was done work and got home Monday night. It was a quick trip but well worth it! 

Sariah took really good care of us--she was very prepared. She bought pizza and sandwich stuff for us to eat as well as breakfast stuff. She is a good cook. 

Sariah is from Nevada. She is a great girl. It is evident that she has superior character. Travis and her make a wonderful couple. 

We drove another hour on sunday to Wyoming to meet some of her family. It was a beautiful drive. We stopped at this Dam to take some pictures and walk around a bit. 

Monday afternoon Travis's roommates had a BBQ that they invited us to. It was fun to get to meet them. They are really nice and totally chill. 

Mom has a hard time saying there names. She calls Sariah Seria and Pono Poncho! haha we had a fun time calling Pono Poncho! 

All in all it was a great trip and I am glad Travis and I could do it together. We had some great conversations while driving and I finally got to meet Sariah! I can't wait to see what happens in their future. 

Wisdom Teeth

On Thursday May 16 both Katelyn and I got our wisdom teeth out. It was quite an ordeal.

We were both pretty miserable for the next few days. The fact that we were on T3's didn't help as we both were out of it for the most part. We watched lots of Heartland episodes and a few movies. I don't remember the last time I watched so much TV. As you can tell from above we both swelled pretty good. I kept telling my family to make sure that I never get that fat! It was quite the experience getting them out. It was weird being on the laughing gas. I felt tingly all over is how I would describe it. Your just feel yourself go all fuzzy. And then you get the shots to freeze your mouth and that just makes it all that much more miserable. It is so hard knowing what you want to say but then not being able to say it. You get frustrated real fast. I got to the point where the assistant would ask how I was doing and I would just give her a thumbs up and nod my head. She just laughed. I didn't feel any pain the entire procedure but I sure could feel how hard they were pulling on me! The top two came out no problem they didn't even stich up there, but the bottom two proved to be more challenging and they had to cut them out in multiple pieces. I asked to see my teeth when I was done and man are those suckers huge! I have to say that getting them out is by far not the worse part. The worse part then is the recovery. It is changing the gauze in your mouth for the next few hours as you just bleed and bleed. It is not being able to open your mouth hardly at all for three days. It is the gross taste of dried blood and other stuff that you just can't seem to get out of your mouth. It is the not wanting to drink or eat. It is not being able to brush your teeth for a few days. . GROSS! It is the pain so you take tylenol 3's and feel drugged for the first few days. Ya the recovery is by far the worst. The worst is behind me though. My face isn't as swollen today and I hope it continues to go down so that I can work tomorrow. One thing that I do want to mention about the procedure that was really neat to me is that throughout the whole thing, even though I was on laughing gas, and my mouth was frozen I was still able to pray. I prayed throughout the entire thing. Although my body did not feel normal at all I was still able to talk to God and I know he listened. This really got me thinking about the body and the spirit and the relationship between the two. My body houses my spirit, but my spirit does not need the body to function, it can be independent of it, as it once was. The spirit is the most important. By taking care of my body I take care of my spirit. I must also do things that will nourish my spirit and keep it healthy. The two will work best when in harmony with one another. But even though my body was temporary unavailable in a sense, my spirit could still function. The goal then that I got from this experience is in order to keep them both my body and spirit healthy and functioning at there optimum level I must do things to nourish and exercise both of them. I also know that I can talk to and pray to God at any time and anywhere. Nothing will stop me from doing this and nothing will stop him from listening. 

On a brighter note. . . Katelyn and I met with President Lybbert today for our mission interviews. I no sooner went into his office and sat down and the power went out! haha everyone kept teasing me for making the power go out. The interview however went on. He said that Bro. Beazer is gone until wednesday but when he gets back he will enter all the paperwork and send them off. He then said that hopefully in a week from thursday our calls should be issued. I was hoping we could have them sent off right away but that will not be the case. I know I just need to be patient. It will all work out how God intends it to and I just need to trust him. Sometimes I wish my timing could be his but I know that if that were the case I would be nowhere. I need to trust in him and have faith. It will all work out how it is supposed to. 

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! I don't know where I would be without my mother. When I went to school I better realized how special my Mom is. She is the best and I am so grateful for her. She has taught me so much through her example. As I get older I see ways that I am becoming like her and I am so grateful for that. I love her so much! 

Katelyn and I started planning a week in advance this year instead of the night before like we have in the past. Because we were prepared everything went so much smoother. We both collaborated on ideas and each compromised with the other. It turned out just how we imagined. Katelyn is so talented with everything! Aren't the decorations just beautiful? I don't know how she does it but she sure does it good! She takes after Mom.

We had everyone in the family write things they loved about Mom. I think my Mom will really treasure it.

I was a little hesitant about the stick at first, but sure enough Katelyn was right and it worked perfectly.

-320 trips to piano

-150 high school basketball games

-7020 loads of laundry

-8000 school lunches

Dinner! Katelyn and I made Salmon, Broccoli and Cheese and Rice. 

Roasted Tomatos and Shallot Salmon. The boys cooperated quite well considering they don't really like fish very much they were willing to sacrifice. No doubt something that they learned from Mom. 

For dessert Katelyn made this beauty--fruit pizza. It was DELICIOUS!

Update

Here is a quick update on what my life has been like since I got back from school. 

I started working at Subway. So far so good. I am currently working the 3:30 to 11:30 shift. It has its pros and cons. Pros being I am very productive in the mornings, and cons being that both my mom and Katelyn work in the morning and are done at 4 so I very rarely see them anymore! Sad right? I am sleeping when they leave and they are sleeping when I get home. I am hoping that I won't have to work it to much longer. Working at  Subway has taught me a lot about dealing with people. There are so many people that work at Subway and it seems that everyone likes certain workers and hates others. It is frustrating to me. Why can't we all just love each other? It has definitely taught me patience. 

My mission papers are submitted to the Bishop! I got all of my shots done this past week. It was a trial let me tell you! Getting my hepatitis shot brought multiple problems that took a lot longer than I would have liked but we finally got er done. I am so grateful to Katelyn and her patience as she waits for me to finish my papers so we can submit them. All that is left is bishops interview and stake president interview. Hopefully we can submit them in the next week and a half. 

On Saturday we had some good brotherly sister bonding. Haha Travis went gopher hunting and took Katelyn and I with him. It was a lot of fun. He is so patient with us! He is also a good teacher. He is going to make one good Daddy. We had fun shooting gophers and targets and just talking. He has been dating Sariah Wadsworth since January. I haven't met her yet but she seems very nice and outgoing. I am excited for them. They became Facebook official this past week which is a big step for Travis! 

I stole this picture from Facebook. She captioned it "My Cowboy". Lots of people commented on how handsome he is and how he looks like a Young George Strait. Any other couple I would think awe cute. . . but this is my brother we are talking about! It is weird to hear people talk like that. I guess in a way I am just a little protective of him. 

Well it has begun. Someone in my grade is engaged. Kiara Marsh is the first one that I know of in my grade to be married. It is crazy! I am so excited for her. It has been fun to see where everyone has gone and done. Lots heading on mission, lots going to school, and lots working. I can't wait to see where we are all 20 years from now. 

The weather has been so nice. I am sitting out on the trampoline writing this and it is 21 degrees and beautiful. I love weather like this. Starting to feel a lot like summer! 

Guess Who's Back, Back Again

My parents and Katelyn came and picked me up from school. It was fun to show them around Campus (I am trying to convince Katelyn to come here) and shop. We went to the Sister Missionary Mall and Katelyn and I each found a skirt for our missions. I also got new scriptures for my mission. I am getting really excited! I can't wait to get my call and serve the Lord. Mom had all of my appointments already scheduled. On Monday I got my shots and physical, tuesday I got my dental examination, and on tomorrow I get my other shots. All that is left is getting all of the papers to the Bishop and getting our interview then we can send our papers off! I can't wait!

I worked at Atkins Monday and Tuesday. Kris is in Mexico so they needed me to help out while Carley finishes up school. Today I started at Subway. It went really well. First days are always hard, but everyone has to have them. I know that with repetition I will be able to learn it all.

All of Dad's aunts are getting older and are yet very healthy anymore. Dad really wanted to see them all, as did my Grandpa really want us to contact them all. It was so good to stop and see them! I didn't get to see Hazel and Clinton but everyone else did.

Aunt Doreen and Uncle Mazer. I had the opportunity to go to their house multiple times for dinner and to visit. It was so good to get to know them better! I really enjoyed going to their house.

Jess tore her ACL doing cheer and get operated on on Monday so she was the first to move out. Kiki left next on Thursday morning. It was only us 4 on the last day. I was sure blessed to get AMAZING roommates. I love everyone of them. Each taught me so much. I can't wait to see where life takes us all.  Kiki is getting married May 10. Lexy enters the MTC on June 12, Brigitte is undecided between a mission or staying to continue dating a boy, Jess and Saydi are coming back to school in the fall, and I am heading on a mission. 

Mom took a picture here in this exact spot when I came down in August so she wanted to get another one at the end of the year. Lots has changed since then! 

Look who we ran into at the Bookstore? Lisa (left) and Leanne (right) Kofford. They are twins and were in my weight training class. Leanne was also my partner for the Dietetics After School Program. I am glad I had the opportunity to say goodbye to them and introduce Katelyn to them. They are pretty special, amazing, and nice girls. 

I gave everyone a tour of Campus. This is me in the 2nd floor of the Lee Library where I usually study.

We stopped in Blackfoot Idaho on the way home to say goodbye to Tylie and Makayla. Hard to believe that I won't see these girls for 2 years! 

I really miss school, but it is sure good to be home. I know this is where I need to be. I hope I can make the best out of this summer. That I can work hard and play hard. I hope I can prepare each and everyday for my mission by studying the scriptures and preach my Gospel. I hope I can become more submissive to the promptings of the spirit and act immediately without delay. I hope that I can look for ways to share the Gospel with others. I hope that I can do all that Heavenly Father wants me to.
